PSM COORDINATOR
 

Location: Jonesboro                                                                                       Department: Facilities

Reports to: Utilities Supervisor                                                               Shift: Nights, typically 10 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Hourly/Salaried: Hourly                                                                               FLSA status:  Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

This position requires an individual with excellent administrative skills and more importantly, mechanical skills with an expertise in refrigeration.  The PSM program is comprised of two parts, administrative and mechanical. Both parts demand focus to detail, commitment, and accuracy.  This applies on the administrative side when revising or revalidating PSM documents, procedures, and P&ID’s, and the same applies on the mechanical side when writing pump down, startup, operating, and maintenance procedures.  The PSM Coordinator must have an in-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, flow, components, and system mechanics.  The mechanical side of the PSM program is based on system inspections, PM’s that meet manufacturer’s recommendations and work orders all of which are generated through the maintenance program.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise shift activities of department operators
• Read and understand the requirements of OSHA’s Standard 29CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety
• Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals)
• Maintain proper documentation of all PSM activities
• Maintain revision logs of all PSM elements, documents, and P&ID’s 
• Writing and training of operating and maintenance procedures
• Assist with the training of all elements of the PSM program
• Maintain contractor information and welding certifications
• Maintain technician training records
• Assist in Incident Investigations, Process Hazard Analysis, and Compliance Audits
• Keep minutes and maintain documentation of weekly safety and round table meetings 
• Schedule, Facilitate, and maintain documentation of monthly PSM Steering Team meetings
• Conduct department safety audits
• Conduct annual ammonia system audits
• Perform monthly procedure revalidations
• Conduct contractor training
• Generate and maintain action item logs derived from safety inspections, pre-startup reviews, incident investigations, PHA’s, and compliance audits.

Education & Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years refrigeration experience
