The Butterball Way
Traditions With Purpose

Our Four Pillars

We believe in taking care of our consumers, local communities, our planet, and especially our people. With the various changes in all our lives, we make it our priority to balance the safety of our team members and their health, while continuing to fulfill our responsibility as food producers. However, we’re no less committed to our responsibility of being good corporate citizens. In fact, we’ve been able to accomplish great achievements within the last two years, and we continue to innovate new ways of working, volunteering in our local communities, taking care of our planet, and philanthropy work. It’s who we are and it’s what we do. It’s The Butterball Way.

Our People

Our employees are the core of our business, and we work every day to ensure their safety and provide opportunities for their growth and development.
Having the right people in the right role with the right skills at the right time is crucial to our success. Everyone brings a unique voice, perspective, and experience that is accepted, valued, and appreciated by the team. We strive to provide an environment that encourages our people to bring their whole selves to work, where they are empowered to do their best and take ownership of their career through continuous learning.

Our Plate

Your plate is our business, and the responsibility to put quality
food on it is one we take very seriously.
It starts on our farms with the thoughtful care for our turkeys. This dedication supports the high quality of our products and trust consumers place in our brands. In conjunction with more than 600 contract family farms, we strive to provide excellent animal care and well-being.
We’ve launched all new products like Butterball Turkey Sausage Balls ideal for breakfast or snacking occasions, and convenient center-of-the-plate meal solutions like our Simple Seasonings turkey breast. We extended our current product offerings with new options like Butterball Turkey Sausage Crumbles.
During the 2019 and 2020 holiday seasons, we assisted more than four million people with crucial turkey questions on support platforms via our website Butterball.com, social media, the Butterball Skill for Alexa, live chat, and emails.

Our Planet

Your plate is our business, and the responsibility to put quality
food on it is one we take very seriously.
Our business starts with farmers who produce our food and it’s sustained by healthy land and responsible stewardship.
In 2019, we rehabilitated our largest spray field for managing wastewater from our Mount Olive, N.C. facility. This resulted in a 64% improvement in soil function and its infiltration capacity. Further results suggested significant improved performance in the field. Based on these findings, additional spray fields are currently undergoing rehabilitation in 2020-22.
For more efficient processing, we’ve combined two older feed mills, essentially building a new state-of-the-art feed mill in Yellville, AR. Since this merge we’ve saved more energy and made transportation to nearby farms more accessible. In addition, this feed mill has three milling lines, one of which is segregated for specialty feed to prevent cross contamination.

Philanthropy

We don’t just put food on your table—we’re also dedicated to reducing hunger and securing nutrition
across communities and our world.
