Job Description

Directly responsible for leading the Distribution Team Members in their day-to-day job duties.  Promotes and ensures compliance with all Butterball Safety and Quality policies and procedures.  Ensures product loads are compliant with Butterball policies and procedures.  Responsible for coordinating with Distribution Manager, Inventory Control, and various other areas to ensure product flow and safety.  Responsible for general upkeep and housekeeping of the Distribution areas during shift.  Responsible for making sure products are loaded and shipped in the designated time frame correctly.


  • Ensure that all inventory is accounted for.
  • Ability to focus on customer needs and customer service while ensuring that all policies and procedures are met
  • Identify, through a proactive approach, potential cost saving and efficiency gain opportunities in a specific area to improve overall KPI’s
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a high-level employee morale and to conducts themselves and all activities and accountabilities in a manner that is consistent with Butterball's Values
  • Ensure customer shipments conform to customer instructions accurately
  • Supervise the preparation of Domestic and International documentation and ensure the accuracy for Customs Compliance
  • Plan and manage all warehouse activities pertaining to a specific area to meet or exceed Butterball's objectives.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with all Butterball Polices and governmental regulations
  • Maintain or exceed Quality standards pertaining to a specific area in the warehouse.
  • Maintain or exceed performance metrics at MTO Distribution.
  • Responsible for training of new employees and the ongoing cross training within the department to ensure quality and productivity goals are met or exceeded.
  • Lead, direct, train and manage the performance of the distribution team
  • Supervise the order picking and shipping of all Domestic and International shipments and ensure all orders are picked accurately
  • Supervise the receiving of Domestic and International inbound shipments to be received and ensure the accuracy of the shipment documentation
  • Ensure compliance with established processes and procedures
  • Maintain effective internal control over the product flow and account of inventory through receiving, shipping and other inventory area
  • Responsible for performance improvement and conduct corrective actions when needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a schedule flexibility and availability to cover needed shifts outside normal work hours on short notice
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and accept responsibility for actions
  • Required to attend First Aid and CPR training

Education and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Distribution
  • Previous supervisory experience in a distribution environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of the following technical systems preferred: SAP, AS-400, Kronos, WMS, LEAN LOGISTICS, EXCEL, Microsoft Office Suite
