Job Summary:

Prepare a daily and weekly schedule that meets the plant’s capacities and customer needs.  Coordinate with Sales, Plant Operations, Plant Shipping and Customers to receive customer order/PO information in a timely manner to successfully schedule production, shipments and deliveries through invoicing.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule daily production by PO and delivery number with correct sell by and pre-price order information
  • Must understand customer requirements and production capacities
  • Analyze shortages to customer and prepare reports
  • Adjust schedule appropriately in response to the demand changes or supply changes
  • Monitor daily production and inventories to ensure that the schedules are being met and loads will be able to ship to meet delivery required. Work with sales and production in the case of any shortages and/or rework necessary to best support the business.
  • Analyze orders against inventory levels, capacity, prior history and future forecast to predict production needs
  • Update computer spread sheets related to planning
  • Enter orders in SAP, monitor orders through production, shipping, invoicing and customer service.
  • Make all shipment and delivery appointments, communicate this information to Operations, Plant Shipping, Transportation, carriers and customers.
  • Maintain ISO files with correct customer/PO and delivery information.
  • Manage plant inventory of chep pallets.Understand Operations needs to keep inventory available for production.Work with chep pallet provider to order and maintain inventory.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to back up scheduling of raw materials for plant, including roasts and burgers.
  • Learn to issue purchase orders in SAP as back up for purchasing.
  • Follow scheduling files for Burger Patties and plan outbound loads to keep product moving to avoid warehouse shortages and keep plant limited freezer space available for current production.Involves working with warehouses to plan inbounds and carriers to provide transportation as well as plant production and shipping.
  • Understand the requirements of the USDA School Lunch program, using the USDA web site, i3pl, Americold i3pl coordinate with the USDA grading department out bound shipments.
  • Learn to prepare export documentation and shipments for both fresh and frozen loads for Plant managed warehouses.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have good written and verbal skills
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of management
  • Must be able to learn and understand Plant capacities, customer requirements, sales history, and production history
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, Nistevo, and DCT
  • Ability to work in various cross departmental teams analyzing production requirements and improving customer fill rates

Education & Experience: 

  • BS Degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent training and experience
  • Three years experience in a manufacturing environment
