SHIPPING SUPERVISOR

Reports to: Distribution Manager

Shift: 1 on Days, 1 on Nights                                                            FLSA Exempt: Yes

Job Summary:

Directly responsible for leading the Shipping/Freezer personnel in day to day job duties. Following direction of Distribution Manager ensuring product loads are in compliance with Butterball policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for supervision of daily activities of the Shipping area.
  • Responsible for supervision of blast freezer operations.
  • Responsible for coordinating with Distribution Manager, inventory control and various other areas to ensure product flow, product food safety and associate safety.
  • Responsible for general up-keep and housekeeping of the shipping/distribution dock, blast freezers, storage freezers engine and auxiliary/support areas during the work shift.
  • Required to have good working knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for making sure product blasted, stored, loaded and shipped in designated time frames correctly.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • 1 year relevant work experience in Shipping, Storage, or Warehouse Supervision.
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • General Knowledge in Shipping/ Storage/ Warehousing HACCP and/or USDA Policies.
  • Must have a high energy level and ability to work varying shift hours.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years post, High school education preferred

  • Knowledge of workplace safety rules

  • General computer skills (i.e. Microsoft.)
