Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing all scheduling functions for the Mount Olive and Raeford facilities as well as the development and implementation of supply chain best practices and technologies to support these functions.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the plant production and development of a daily master production schedule, from slaughter thru further processing at the Mt. Olive and Raeford facilities, to meet the inventory and customer service goals while minimizing production costs.
  • Coordinates with grow out and supply planning staff to maintain weekly and daily kill schedules as well as updates live bird supply reports.
  • Develops and maintains plant production scheduling tools and processes.
  • Daily tracking and year to date tracking of production versus schedule and versus capacity.
  • Collaborates crosss functionally with groups such as R&D, purchasing, sale, marketing and operations in the process of product development and commercialization.
  • Leads continuous improvement processes in scheduling and across different functional areas to improve supply chain performance.
  • Reports shortages to supply planning team for day prior and up to seven days out.
  • Interacts with customer service, sales, marketing, operations and logistics to ensure timely and complete delivery of purchase orders and stock transfers.
  • Works closely with operations leadership to address variances and shortfalls and develop action plans to improve areas of opportunity.
  • Develops self and associates through development plans. This includes but is not limited to in-house training, webinars, conferences, other educational studies, cross functional training, team and project assignments etc

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain or Economics.
  • 10+ years of demand or supply planning experience.
  • 10+ years of combined business experience.
  • 3 to 5 years strong retail experience dealing with perishable products.
  • 3+ years of direct supervision experience.
  • 5+ years of experiences using supply chain planning software (JDA, Oracle, SAP APO, Infor, etc).
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel.
  • Masters degree or supply chain certifications preferred.
