Position Purpose
Provide engineering leadership and support to assigned facility/equipment projects. Work with maintenance team in the process of planning, forecasting, coordinating ,budgeting, and implementation of scheduled projects.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Project planning activities will include conducting validation testing, budget creation, plantsurveys, line studies, plant layout confirmation, line layout creation, Food Safety, USDA Compliance, Ergonomic Compliance and submitting capital requests.
Project implementation activities will include purchase negotiation of equipment and services, overseeing contractor and
vendor employees, coordination of production schedules with project needs, maintaining budget documentation for project spending, coordination of plant equipment start-up and associate training, project audits for scope and justification compliance, and coordination of resources for completion of general punch list tasks as required. Time management skills expected.
The Project Engineer is accountable for budget management, schedule development, adhering to timelines and deadlines, supervision of contractor employees, and achievement of project goals as stated in the justification.
Apply engineering principles to existing and proposed processes while working with internal customers, outside vendors, and consultants.
Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources to develop and execute capital projects.
Develop concept and detailed working drawings of lines, processes, and systems to communicate with team members.
Work on the plant floor with operations to improve associate safety, food safety, ergonomics, productivity, product flow, and processes.
Develop and source new and cost effective processes and equipment for new products and packaging. (Projects must be delivered on aggressive schedules with attention to production needs and strict food safety requirements.)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Capital project experience in processing, packaging, or food manufacturing industries preferred

Strong technical competencies in various engineering disciplines
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and extra/extended hours
Proficiency in AutoCAD strongly preferred, Microsoft Excel, Word, and general Project Time Line skills required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor degree in engineer or related field or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Project Management preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years in manufacturing, food processing, or related environment preferred.
