Job Summary:

  • Provide professional medical care to associates
  • Assist in the management of Workers Compensation
  • Assist in pre-employment placements of applicants

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and leadership to OHS staff
  • Promote wellness among associates
  • Treatment of associates for injuries/incidents
  • Monitor work related illnesses/injuries to help decrease Workers Compensation claims; associates should be seen at a minimum of once per week
  • Review and maintain Workers Compensation files
  • Complete 1st Notices for accidents, Form 19’s and other forms as required by North Carolina Industrial commission
  • Attend accident investigations
  • Contact company physicians (scheduling Workers Compensation appointments, restriction clarifications, after hour emergencies, etc.)
  • Conduct Random Drug testing
  • Conduct post offer pre-employment physicals when necessary
  • Provide guidance for Post Offer physicals
  • Conduct Yard Dog physicals
  • Administer “Return to Work” program
  • Monitor the audiometric testing program for compliance; conduct audiometric testing

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as a LPN and in good standing with the NC Board of Nursing

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Current CPR Certification

  • Familiarity with workplace safety and record keeping a plus

  • Industrial experience desired

  • Some weekend work required
