Job Summary:

Assist the Feed Mill Manager to supervise the maintenance and operations of the Feed Mill including preventative maintenance, ingredient receiving, feed manufacturing, feed delivery, quality, production and maintenance costs, and employee relations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the Feed Mill employees performing maintenance, receiving, feed production, housekeeping, and feed loadout duties.
  • Ensures that all manufacturing practice policies set forth by Butterball, LLC are completed and documented as assigned. Ensures that FDA requirements are followed and documented. 
  • Assist the Feed Mill Manager to measure and control the operational costs of the feed mill including all maintenance and manufacturing costs.
  • Assists the Feed Mill Manager to execute the Housekeeping Program, monitor good housekeeping practices, and supervise maintenance of the feed mill equipment in a manner that ensures a clean environment throughout the Mill.
  •  Assists the Feed Mill Manager to enforce all safety procedures and processes necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Supervise and document the execution of the preventative maintenance program at the Feed Mill.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Feed Mill Manager.
  • Assists the Feed Mill Manager to ensure the safety and well-being of Butterball, LLC employees through safety meetings, safety training, safety documentation and continually striving for zero accidents.
  • Cross-functional communication with; the Feed Mill Manager, Grow out Manager, Human Resources, Safety Manager, IT, and Purchasing. This role will also have contacts with vendors, Government agencies, Railroad personnel and others that have business with the Feed Mill.

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in feed manufacturing or related field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory and mechanical experience required.
  • Computer and good communication skills are a must.
