Maintenance Lead

Location:             Carthage, MO                                                                                    Department:      Maintenance

Job Summary:

Responsible for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the maintenance and repair of processing equipment, mobile equipment buildings and grounds in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Assist/Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees.

  • Assist/Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, pmeumatic, and hydraulic operations.

  • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.

  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building.

  • Coordinates with Sanitation and Operations to ensure that the equipment is made ready for production

  • Plans the workshift to allow time for activity in the Safety Accountibility Process and the Maintenance accountibility Program.

  • Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, aggressive, results oriented environment.
  • Superior team building and communication skills to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Practical use of Mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic principals.

  • Use of math and physics to determine calculations needed in maintenance.

  • Use of the computer and computer software (including Microsoft Office Systems) to communicate, research, and analyze data.

  • Use of root cause analysis to investigate accidents and troubleshoot.

  • Understand the principal of the machinery and the total process.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work on the plant floor with operations to improve associate safety, food safety, ergonomics, productivity, product flow, and processes.
  • Develop and source new and cost effective processes and equipment for new products and packaging. (Projects must be delivered on aggressive schedules with attention to production needs and strict food safety requirements.)
  • Demonstrated Technical Ability/Skills in Steam, Air, Water, & Utilities.
  • Attend staff meetings to review results.
  • Conduct safety and behavioral audits.
