Position Summary:

Manage R&D innovation projects by organizing, coordinating and executing key project Deliverables from conception through commercialization of new products. Provide technical support for innovation project launches to the operations, sales and marketing teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage the R&D activities of assigned projects to ensure work is properly prioritized and completed in timely manner to deliver results.
  • Execute new products from conception to commercialization by working with sales, marketing, operation, purchasing and quality assurance.
  • Maintain external and marketplace awareness related to new concepts, products, ingredients technologies and trends.
  • Work cross functionally to communicate and lead development of new products and technologies.
  • Identify new technologies, ingredients, materials and processes that provide product and operational improvements.
  • Provide technical support to operations to ensure product excellence and cost efficiency for new product launches.
  • Seek innovation solution directed at supporting continuous improvement.
  • Actively seek to enhance technical skills through project experience, seminars, professional conference and training programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in food Science or related Field.
  • Poultry science / poultry processing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years industry experience managing research and development projects.
  • Position requires excellent oral and written communication, analytical, time management and human relation skills.
  • Experience with new product launches, problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to use new technology to significantly improve profitability, product quality, food safety and manufacturing complexity issues.
  • Success in this role requires technical/functional depth and an action- oriented work ethic to drive results.
  • Proficient in MS office suite.
  • Travel – this position will be required to travel to plant facilities as needed for conducting pilot plant testing, commercialization scale up support and capturing data.At times travel could be up to 50%.Expectation would be at least 2 days / week in Mount Olive potentially more pending project needs.
