Job Summary:

Provide mechanical support service in response to operational changes resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement or other modification of existing mechanical systems and/or equipment. 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the predictive maintenance diagnostic tools provided, documenting and interpreting results, taking appropriate measures when needed to prevent failure.

  • Perform detailed analysis and recommend repair solutions when equipment is not performing up to mechanical or electrical design expectations.

  • Proactively identify and react to potential hazards and maintenance-related emergencies, with an upmost sense of urgency.

  • Work in a team environment together with Operations, Quality, Safety and Sanitation to identify mechanical issues that arise.

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment taking appropriate safety measures, in accordance with all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

  • Assist maintenance team and support all aspects of the maintenance department as needed or directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must achieve Minimum Effectiveness Level (MEL) within 3 years of hire date.

  • Follow diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturing instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Complete all appropriate documentation as required by IMT system and management.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and critically think through a variety of variables.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to work independently to make decisions with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience: 

  • Two (2) years or more of industrial mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial, military or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Associate Degree or equivalent, or successful completion of technical school in a related field preferred.

  • Experienced in pneumatics, mechanical, refrigeration, boiler, and electrical preferred.
