Job Summary:

Leading and directing the human resource team to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business, by maintaining and enhancing employee and labor relations. 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and guidance to management regarding performance management (promotions, demotions, transfers, leaves of absence, return to work programs, disciplinary programs, and terminations), Human Resources policies and procedures, employee benefit programs and compensation.  Administration of Human Resource Planning, Performance Assessment and other evaluation programs within assigned responsibilities.  Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department.
  • Participates in developing department budget, goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Ensures consistency in execution of Human Resources policies, programs and procedures and communicates issues to the Director of Human Resources and participates in policy/procedure review/implementation where appropriate.
  • Manage grievance process, contract administration, perform as Chief Company Spokesperson during contract negotiations, ensure operations understands contract and builds effective relationship with Union.
  • Assists in the development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans, Equal Employment programs and other governmental rules and regulations pertaining to associate relations.
  • Investigates and takes action on unemployment compensation claims and prepares position statements for DOL and EEOC charges.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies as it relates to labor, wage and hour and employment laws. 
  • Ensures facility is 100% compliant with Employment Eligibility Verification and I-9 Regulation Laws.
  • Oversee and manage the hourly recruitment process.
  • Sources and recruit exempt level positions.
  • Counsel Managers and associates with regard to Human Resource issues.
  • Conduct investigations, review manager recommendations and submittals, and engage in proactive discussions with managers.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership team and employees to advise both on employee related and organizational matters.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to Sr. Human Resource Representatives and the rest of the human resources staff.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the organizations leadership, developing programs and policies to support the organizations vision, values and direction. 
  • Other duties and projects as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of the development and execution of HR policies and procedures, as well as Local, State and Federal Employment Laws.
  • Ability to provide leadership while partnering with facility management, proactively addressing
  • issues, questions and concerns, responding with urgency to address Human Resources needs.
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Exercise judgment and tact in the application of rules, regulations, policies and procedures in dealing with others in difficult or sensitive situations.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field with 3-5 years Human Resources experience inclusive of 2 years Labor Relations experience.
