Position Summary: 

Processing of eggs from farms through the hatching process. Cleaning of equipment and hatchery facility.

Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:

Transfer eggs from boxes to racks.

Transfer eggs from racks to hatch bins.

Clean racks and hatch the area.

Record weight and temperature information.

Remove hatched poults from metal bins to processing machines.

Cleaning processing machines.

Dispose of unhatched eggs.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to follow directions.

Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs.

Ability to perform basic math skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 40lbs over head.

Bending, twisting, kneeling, and standing all for long periods of time.

Pushing and pulling of racks weighing up to 1000 pounds that are on wheels.

Ability to climb and descend ladders.

Working Conditions/Department Description:

Warehouse environment.

Exposure to wet floors.

Exposure to heat and cool conditions.

Exposure to foul smells.

Exposure to poult down and dust.

Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
