HACCP Supervisor – Raeford

Job Summary:

To support the QA manager in maintaining the USDA regulated HACCP and SOP plans as well as other food safety related programs.  This entails, but is not limited to, maintaining the written plans, associated records and documentation review and filing, as well as conducting training and consultation on product and process deficiency Corrective Actions.  This position will provide training to all levels of Operations and other associates on proper HACCP principles.  To fulfill these responsibilities, time on different shifts may be required.  The HACCP Supervisor will also support recall prevention, product control verification and risk mitigation. Enforces food safety and audits. USDA liaison and stays updated on all USDA regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Processing (including RTC & RTE), food safety, and quality knowledge
  • USDA regulations.
  • Understands HACCP Regulation and Plans
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Successfully completed a HACCP certification course.
  • Organizational and clerical skills
  • Proficient math, verbal, and written skills
  • Familiar with the use of a computer using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Have excellent attendance and personnel record
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to perform multiple duties
  • Able to maintain and manage a work plan & daily schedule
  • Have knowledge of workplace safety rules
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately / Attention to details
  • Ability to read, understand, and interact with USDA officials and regulations

Education & Experience: 

  • College degree in Food Science or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required

 Working Conditions:

  • Cold and wet industrial environment
  • May require long periods of time on feet
  • May require a lot of walking
  • Must be able to read reports, evaluate data and use computer
  • Times when long hours are required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned by QA Manager or Director of QA
  • Promote and train on GMP’s and Food Safety
  • Monitor contractor and construction projects.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision includes close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
