Job Description

Job Summary – This position is responsible for the day to day activities of the multiple hatcheries - including planning special projects related to maintaining an excellent hatching environment, ensuring cost effectiveness is maintained and administering personnel policies in a fair and consistent manner.  This includes making weekly projections and seeking outside sources when necessary, working with Quality Control to ensure proper procedure is followed and that proper cleaning has been done. 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Monitors and promotes a safe work environment for all Associates, conduct safety training and meetings.
  • Assisting supervisors and managers in training and day to day management of Associates.
  • Arranging for poults to be delivered to the farms
  • Assisting managers in the supervision of drivers and ensuring DOT related documents are in order
  • Assist managers in egg procurement and set schedules.
  • Assist managers to ensure that all vaccination and transfer procedures are met.
  • Calculating hatchery mechanical performance and ensuring preventive maintenance is in place.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for Capital budgets
  • Responsible for all cost and meeting annual budgets.
  • Responible for all Hatchery KPI.
  • Responsible for building and maintaing a effective management team.
  • Reponsible for all quality aspects for poult quality delivered to the farms.
  • Mangaging all egg inventory and pick up schedules for all egg farms.

     Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 10 years hatchery or live production experience, preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Good management people skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs


     Education & Experience: 

          4 year degree with Agricultural Related Curriculum, preferred
