Position Summary: Provide mechanical support service in response to operational changes resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement or other modification of existing mechanical systems and/or equipment.
Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Process product using tools and equipment provides
Follows all work safety policies and guidelines
Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns
Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelines
Maintains a clean and organized area
Performs other duties as assigned
Accountable tomaintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours
Inspects systems and report abnormalities on a regular basis
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and plant facilities
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area
Must be able to work shifts as assigned such as weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to troublelshoot issues that occur on the machines
Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accomodations
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
Must pass a background check, drug screen
Must be able to read and write English
Prefer if individual was familiar in SPC, HACCP, GMP's, SSOP's and USDA
Be familiar with ISO process and procedures
Prefer but not mandatory if the associate could read electrical and mechanical blue prints
Shift flexibility could be needed and willilng to work on call and weekends
Must wear Personal Protective Equipmen6t
Ability to multi-task
Completing required paperwork in a timely manner
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing and walking (at least 8 hours per day)
Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50 pounds or more), stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching overhead and below knees
Perform work in a refrigerated and non-refrigerated environment depending on work assignment
Ability to use calculators, computers, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a day
Use repetitive motions using upper and lower extremities, mount and dismount equipment on a a continual basis
Will be subject to working on mechanical and stationary working platforms in excess of 40 ft.
