This position is responsible for obtaining and accurately maintaining all required data in the company-wide MES software. The primary focus will be to allow for regulatory labeling and accurate inventory of products, packaging and ingredients throughout the entire manufacturing process, from first receipt through maintaining customer required labeling. In addition, this position will maintain all product labeling documents to ensure requirements meet company standards as well as regulatory requirements, including audits.  Works closely with regulatory and systems compliance support, research and development, quality and plant management teams to ensure commercialization events are created and all documentation is communicated in a timely manner to meet company deadlines and support customer labeling demands.


  • Assist in retrieval of all master data fields required for labeling software
    • Individual will work cross-functionally with multiple departments and current plant labeling SMEs to obtain data necessary for labeling software.
  • Develop system accuracy checks for the master data fields used in reporting and production.
    • Document, track and communicate errors with root cause and prevention history maintained.
  • Develop and oversee efficient implementation of labeling for meat products including work in progress and finished goods, all packaging and ingredients components.
  • Participate in all plant internal and third-party audits that involve labeling.
  • Act as liaison between plants and corporate departments to meet customer labeling. requirements and obtain other data needed to produce labels in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Utilize investigative techniques to determine root cause of system related labeling issues, determine the proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop, update and communicate training for managers and site level employees to accurately interact with the MES labeling system.
    • Ensure training is effective in preventing slowdowns in the event of an absent SME.
  • Define knowledge and understanding needed by plant management teams to meet the company’s expectation for labeling.
    • Test and grant access to only the functions determined necessary for plant levels.
  • Lead and support process improvement teams within the company as related to MES system data and labeling.
  • Draft commercialization policies, procedures, and forms and maintain documentation related to labeling.
  • Perform and document label reviews on a determined frequency to meet auditing requirements.
  • Provides direct support to the MES operational analyst.
  • Other duties as assigned by the MES leadership team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or writing-intensive field of study.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in USDA/FDA regulated industry, preferred.
  • Understanding of plant floor operations and labeling requirements is necessary
  • Inventory control and labeling data systems knowledge, including working experience of inventory systems and reporting is a must.
  • Detail oriented and organized wit demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to obtain data from various sources and compile to accurately maintain in the MES system.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and communicate to appropriate team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Experience in SAP (preferred) and MES preferred.
