Job Description

Responsible for ensuring and maintaining IT services at one or more Butterball locations, including Manufacturing Plants, Feed Mills, Live Operations, Sales / Corporate Offices, and others.  Success in this role requires a broad understanding of Information Technology concepts and the ability to successfully work without direct supervision.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Quickly learn and work within the processes defined in the Butterball IT management system.
  • Utilize the Butterball IT Service Management System (ITSM) to receive, prioritize, and manage work via tickets and to track time and progress to resolution.
  • Support end users (our internal customers) and IT equipment at one or multiple Butterball facilities.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of desktop/client hardware and software.
  • Detect, analyze, and correct technical problems and deficiencies.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining technology inventory.
  • Partnering with our network engineers, troubleshoot and analyze network issues, including TCP/IP and related network hardware.
  • Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specification(s).
  • Design, direct, and oversee network cabling installations, including upkeep of server room and network closets.
  • Deploy, maintain, and backup line-of-business equipment on the production floor.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Contribute to and maintain Butterball IT system standards.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for improving system administration tasks. 
  • Be the site liaison for Corporate IT.  Routinely attend site management meetings, cascading enterprise initiatives and communications while keeping a pulse on planned local activities.

  • Create and maintain technical/process documentation related to user or system design specifications.
  • Self-starter. Comfortable with working independently while providing timely and accurate status reports.
  • Ability to work with the customer in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.
  • Strong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on different parts of the business.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, along with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional customer service and prompt solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to users question or computer/network issues.
  • Ability to adapt to different environments, across all functions, and at all levels of the business.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree along with one year of comprehensive experience, or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • CompTIA A+ Certification desirable.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following system administration tools; Active Directory, SolarWinds Orion, Microsoft SCCM
  • Proficient with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft 365.
